Red Ribbon Week brought incredible energy to campus, with students and staff coming together to show support for a drug-free lifestyle. A memorable highlight was the lunch activity held on October 21st, which turned out to be a huge success!
“Honestly, I wasn’t expecting so many people to show up,” shared Pearl Ta, Class of 2026. “Mr. Aguayo and our ASB representative-at-large, Angela, helped set up, along with the rest of my friends from ASB, who took care of the speakers and fence decorations. Once everything was in place, it looked amazing.”
Pearl went on to describe the thrill of MCing with Maria, the president of FNL (Friday Night Live). “We were vibing! It was awesome to see students coming up to ask questions and getting those red hand stamps on our poster, along with all the colorful signatures. During my fifth period, I even spotted a guy proudly wearing the teal glasses he won from our spin-the-wheel game. I gave him a shoutout from the stairs, and he looked so happy!”
Throughout the week, students could be seen sporting prizes won during various activities, showing off their Red Ribbon spirit. Pearl also shared a humorous moment involving Mr. Aguayo’s oversized “TOO COOL FOR DRUGS” hall pass. “It was hilarious when our FNL historian, Sambreen, pulled it out during our lunch meeting!”
As for dress-up days, Pearl’s favorite was Jersey Day. “Seeing everyone in their jerseys made my day! It was especially fun spotting students around campus and in class rocking their team colors.”
Red Ribbon Week was filled with these moments of fun and school spirit, all in the name of a healthy, drug-free lifestyle!
