Loara High School is thrilled to spotlight its partnership with UCLA HOPE, a program dedicated to empowering youth through mentorship and education. UCLA HOPE, which stands for Higher Opportunity Program for Education, connects college students with high schoolers to help them navigate the path to higher education. This initiative is part of UCLA’s commitment to serving local communities by addressing educational inequities and inspiring young scholars.
Every Thursday after school, the UCLA HOPE team arrives at Loara’s Family and Community Center, providing free, one-on-one mentoring for Saxons. Whether it’s completing college applications, navigating the financial aid process, or exploring career options, these mentors offer personalized guidance to help students achieve their dreams.
Beyond mentoring, UCLA HOPE creates unforgettable experiences for Loara students through free field trips. On Thursday, November 21st, over 80 Saxons will travel to UCLA’s campus to shadow current students and experience college life firsthand. This daylong immersion is a unique opportunity for students to see themselves thriving in higher education and to gain inspiration from those who have walked the same path.
Loara students, don’t miss out on this incredible resource. Let Thursdays become the springboard to your future! Together, we can achieve college and career success with the support of UCLA HOPE.
