Lights flashed, and the crowd buzzed with excitement. Students and families mingled together on a cold morning, eagerly anticipating today’s event. Delicious treats and snacks were laid out, glistening lights decorated the space, and people filled the room. On the crisp morning of September 19th, Loara High School held its Principal’s Honor Roll Assembly. Over 300 students with GPAs of 3.5 and above attended to receive certificates for their outstanding achievements. Rows of students sat in the early morning, each filled with anticipation.
Outside, several teachers and helpers handed out refreshments and snacks, including cookies and coffee for attending students and their families. Eventually, it was time to sit down and wait for the assembly to begin. Mr. Brown gave a speech to kick off the ceremony, and then, one by one, rows of students were called up, with names announced for every student receiving an award. It was a moment for students to applaud their peers and cheer on their friends.
After the awards were distributed, students and families took advantage of a photo opportunity. Many students received flowers from their family members as a token of celebration. I was one of the students honored with the award, and I was personally ecstatic throughout the event. Recognizing my peers for their brilliant achievements was incredibly heartwarming. Finally, we were released to start the school day. Some of my friends commented on how early the event started, but I felt it was a sweet and uplifting way to begin the day.
