This year’s Homecoming at Loara High School, themed “Midnight at the Oasis,” brought a magical desert night to life, turning the evening of September 13, 2024, into an unforgettable celebration. From the moment students entered the assembly, they were treated to a variety of performances that set the stage for a night filled with school spirit, entertainment, and friendly competition.
The assembly kicked off with exciting performances from the Saxon Band, the Colorguard, and the Cheer team, and KPOP dancers each delivering high-energy routines that had the crowd buzzing. But the surprise highlight of the event came in the form of a lively traditional dance performance, captivating everyone in attendance. The assembly closed with an epic game of musical chairs, adding a touch of friendly rivalry and laughter to the day.
Amidst the festivities, the much-anticipated announcement of the 2024 Royal Court took center stage. Representing the Senior class were Kristen Camacho, Juan Carlos Mosqueda, and Alejandra Vega Gonzalez. The Junior class celebrated Justin Cedi Camacho, Kimberly Rodriguez, and Ryder Nguyen. Sophomores were represented by Oscar Alvarado, Alexis Gulmatico, and Vanessa Ibarra, while Audrey Cervantes, Addison Lavender, and Christian Aldrete Cortez proudly stood for the Freshman class. The court, dressed in their finest, was met with cheers and applause from their peers.
Later that evening, Glover Stadium brought students and fans eager to cheer on the Saxons as they faced off against Webb High School. With the crowd’s, cheer and the band’s energy, the team felt the full support of their fellow students.
The festivities didn’t end there. Homecoming concluded with a Dance under the Stars, where DJ Pegleg Entertainment kept the party going well into the night. Students danced the night away, enjoying the music, laughter, and camaraderie. For those who needed a break from the dance floor, six retro video games offered a fun diversion, while two photo booths provided a chance to capture memories with friends.
Overall, Loara High School’s 2024 Homecoming was a night to remember, filled with school spirit, exciting entertainment, and a sense of togetherness that will be cherished for years to come.
